Ngaba: ENOUGH! Global Intervention to Save Tibetan Lives

Important Dates:

- October 19: Global Prayer and Hunger Strike
- November 2: Enough! Global Protest
- November 3/4: G20 in France
* Leading up to November 2, a concerted effort to Lobby government and representatives.

For weeks now we have all been watching and responding as best we can to the spiraling crisis in Ngaba and Kardze. When 7 young men have self-immolated in the last 6 months; 5 just in the last 10 days (see http://www.freetibet.org/newsmedia/kirti-self-immolation) it's time to massively escalate our advocacy for Tibet.

Enough is Enough. It is vital to generate a major visible call to action by world governments. Tibet and Tibetans need a roar of support from the international community.

These immolations warrant a large scale international response, both to put pressure on China to address Tibetans' legitimate grievances, and to show Tibetans in Tibet that we have heard them and are responding to their anguish. Unless the International community intervenes Tibetans will have no reason to hope for a better future.

We call on all Network Members to visibly lobby and pressure their governments to make a joint statement, collectively démarche China about the situation in Ngaba, and institute a multi-lateral mechanism that can progress future strategy on Tibet.  Between now and the forthcoming G20 summit, 3 & 4 November, we call on all Member groups to take part in a step by step process to build political pressure on China, through lobbying our governments and increasing grassroots support. This plan has been formulated in partnership with some Member Groups and we are contacting many of you individually to discuss joining the campaign.
