International Tibet Network’s 2017 Americas Regional Meeting will take place from 1 – 3 September in Mexico City, Mexico.

As we saw at the Brussels “TSG” Conference last September, there is absolutely no substitute for face to face meetings to strengthen connections and relationships between everyone working for Tibet in our region.  Network Regional Meetings are great opportunities to strategise campaigns, learn new skills, benefit from expert briefings, find campaign partners and recharge batteries.

We are therefore delighted to open registration for the Network’s 7th Americas Regional Meeting, which will take place in exciting Mexico City, at the kind invitation of Tony Karam and Casa Tibet. The meeting will run from 10 am on Friday 1 September, until around 1.30pm on Sunday 3 September. The meeting coincides with Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay’s visit to Mexico.

Accommodation will be arranged at the Hotel Roosevelt – http://www.hotelroosevelt.com.mx/english/, close to Casa Tibet, at a cost of US$36 per person per night for a bed in a twin room, or US$54 per night for a single room, both with American breakfast. Alternative, cheaper, accommodation is available in multi-bed single sex rooms, with Continental Breakfast, at the Be Condesa Hostel https://www.hostalbecondesa.com/

The sooner you register, the cheaper your travel will be.

Total costs for three nights’ accommodation (Thursday, Friday & Saturday) and all meals from Friday lunchtime to Sunday breakfast inclusive will be:

* US$168 in a twin room

* US$222 in a single room.

* US$135 in a hostel room

* The “meals only” rate – should you prefer to book your own accommodation – is US$60 per person for two lunches, two dinners and all breaks (no breakfasts).

All details are included on the Registration form below or via https://goo.gl/forms/i8DrZb9svKS4baPh1

Tibet Network has a number of travel bursaries available, each worth around $250 (more is possibly available for participants from other Latin America countries besides Mexico). Please indicate on the Registration Form if you want to apply for one of these. Priority will be given to Tibetan Communities, Groups from Latin America and Groups that made a membership contribution in 2016 (otherwise first-come, first-served, so register soon. Please note that we cannot give more than one bursary to a single Group.)

Agenda: We want to hear what you would like to see on the Agenda. At the moment we want to include discussions on new ideas in the “Campaign Challenge”, priority campaigns, how to get the best out of collaborating, plus some training. Let us know what’s missing that’s important to you and your Group! A draft outline agenda is here.

Local Transportation: See https://www.aicm.com.mx/en/passengers for information on travel from Mexico City Airport into the city. The address of Casa Tíbet is Tuxpan #2, 1st floor, Col. Roma Sur, 06700 México City.
