Basel Conference on TibetInternational Tibet Network’s 2017 European Regional Meeting will take place from 5 – 7 May in Riga, Latvia.

As we saw at the Brussels “TSG” Conference last September, there is absolutely no substitute for face to face meetings to strengthen connections and relationships between everyone working for Tibet in our region.  Network Regional Meetings are great opportunities to strategise campaigns, learn new skills, benefit from expert briefings, find campaign partners and recharge batteries.

We are therefore delighted to open registration for the Network’s 7th European Regional Meeting, which will take place in beautiful Riga, the capital of Latvia, at the kind invitation of Jānis Mārtiņš Skuja. The meeting will run from 12 noon on Friday 5 May, until around 3pm on Sunday 7 May.

Tibet Network has 10 travel bursaries available, each worth 250 Euros. Please indicate on the Registration Form if you want to apply for one of these. Priority will be given to Tibetan Communities, Groups from Eastern Europe and Groups that made a membership contribution in 2016 (otherwise first-come, first-served, so register soon. Please note that we cannot give more than one bursary to a single Group.)

Agenda: We want to hear what you would like to see on the Agenda. At the moment we want to include discussions on new ideas in the “Campaign Challenge”, priority campaigns, how to get the best out of collaborating, plus sessions on Digital Fundraising and Verbal communication skills. Let us know what’s missing that’s important to you and your Group!

Local Transportation: Riga is well served by budget airlines. Travel from the airport to the city centre by bus takes around 30 minutes and costs 1.50 Euros. See http://www.riga-airport.com/en/main/passengers/useful-information/getting-to-the-airport/public-transport
